Dave and Carolynne Shaw credit good design and the positive working relationship between themselves, the family who own the home and the architect. The awards list for this home is almost as impressive as the house itself. As well as the Placemakers Supreme Award for homes over $1m, the house received a Gold award in its category and the Mastercraft Heart of the Home Kitchen Award in the competition.
Winning our first four Master Builder awards for this stunning beachfront home was amazing! Recognised for our craftsmanship and dedication to quality on this exciting build, the project received the Placemakers Supreme Award for homes over $1 million, the Gold Award and Gold Reserve Award in its category and the Mastercraft Heart of the Home Kitchen Award.
Built for Papamoa locals with young children, the Milne family’s idea was to create a contemporary home that made the most of their amazing beach views and provided a guest wing for visits from friends and family. The Milnes had spent time in Japan and were inspired by Japanese design concepts.
An intricately detailed build with quality materials and high spec interior, the aim was to maximise the land, view and coastal setting. Before we started construction, we poured over the architect’s plans to make sure we knew exactly how to achieve the homeowner’s dream home. We put much of the success of this project down to hard work by all parties and our close working relationship with the architect, transparent communication with the client and Dave’s passion for detail. Quality workmanship is a part of every Shaw build.
“We’re thrilled with our home. Due to the fantastic result he (Dave Shaw) achieved for us, we have no hesitation in recommending Shaw Builders to others - for their work, their management of sub-trades and for their passion for quality.”
